from your pet? I think animals have personalities quite unique unto themselves, are unpretentious in how they face the world, and that we could take some lessons from them. From our late, much-loved German Shepherd, Kato, I learned that strength should be tempered by quiet self-control. From Pepper I've learned that it's OK to be a sort of 'background player' and that it's not necessary to seek the spotlight. From Bachelor, I've learned about being more spontaneous, less uptight, and to not worry as much about what others may think. Have you gotten any 'life lessons' from your pet, whatever he/she may be?

I have learned to stretch more, she is always stretching.
I have also learned there is nothing like a good belly rub. Uh, not me, her.
I have learned how to look at people with puppy dog eyes to get what I want.

I've learned that dried slobber can add the neccessary "bling" to an outfit...
-To be wary of strangers...But lick them anyway.
-To relax. Naps take care of many crisises.
-So my house isn't spotless. I wouldn't trade the love and joy for anything.
-Sometimes you have to run in circles just because you can...
-Exploring nature is fun...Especially when a Chinaman steps out of the hole.
-Moles don't live in China.
-It's possible to dig a 4x8 hole...and eat all of the dirt...and not get constipated.
-Shrubs can live with only half a root system.
-Fur doesn't vacuum off of the ceiling very easily.
-To not laugh at people when they wreck trying to figure out what I'm walking. (2 Danes)
-To smile when the next person asks me "where's the saddle" instead of smacking him across the head like I want to.
-That 250# of danes are not easy to move when it's cold out, it's warm in the bed, and I have to pee.
Seriously though...I've learned some important things too.... Like more patience...To hold my anger cause I need to listen to them... To really pay attention to body language of both humans and animals - I did before but fostering and working with strong drive dogs will teach you more....Love can be boisterous and joyful, but it can also be silent and still.... The pain is always worth the joy

Cricket, that was beautiful! Starfire, fess up-you like those belly rubs! Darryl, thanks for asking the question-I'm pondering all of the important life lessons my furry friends have taught me. I think it will take quite a list; my most valuable life lessons have come through the innocence & devotion of an animal.

My pets have taught me what it means to be loyal, just how important devotion is and that everyone is worth being loved. I have also learned that when things seem to be their worst, is a perfect time to let loose and have fun. I learned that a nap in the warmpth of the sun cures many problems. I've learned a lot from my pets, but latley, the most important is.... That nothing feels better after a crappy day than a big fuzzy hug and a warm kiss on my cheek.
