Kaza, she's beautiful!! She was such a cute puppy & now she's turned into stately lady! How much does she weigh? I really like that 'where we going Mom?' expression on her face.

lol, that is cute! She looks right comfy going for a ride. She has grown up fast though, seems like the last pics you posted of her she was a puppy.

LOL... try convincing HER she's not a puppy anymore!!! She weighed 112 last time she was weighed..(about a month ago). But, in her mind, she's still a cuddly, lil lap puppy and my best buddy. Kaza[/size]

Lol, I hear ya...I think that puppy attitude stays forever. She is a big doggy. I'm thinking Jade and Dufus would just love to play together. Is she protective of you yet or still full of puppy joy? I'm waiting for Dufus to show signs of being protective of the property and us. I'm not holding my breath though because he's made friends with bad guys, and although he is big he is a teddy bear. If only he would bark though!! lol

That's a tuff question. She's still full of puppy joy (everything in life is great fun!!) but I have seen her step tween myself and others on occassion. I don't want a "mean" dog (by ANY stretch) but do want one that has my back if SHTF..... ya know what I mean? Kaza

You both have dogs that have the potential to be protective. I learned recently that Lucky has absolutely no desire to be protective. In fact, if he thinks there's some danger, he's the first one in the house or up on the bed. I guess that's a good thing since there may be kids visiting but at night when we're outside it would be nice to know he'd make the effort to inform me of trouble. As it is, if he heads for the house-I figure there's something or someone outside of my field of vision. He's even scared of crows & blue jays.

A fine-looking dog, Kaza! You're right about not wanting a mean dog. Better to have one that looks as if they COULD be mean. Less possibility for liability issues that way. That's what we had with our last German Shepherd, Kato. He was a big guy, about 120 lbs., and since he was a sable, he had that smoky, sort of 'wolfy' look that made folks keep an eye on him. He didn't have a single mean bone in his body, though. You could have driven up the driveway, opened your door, and he'd have gotten in and rode off with you. He's been gone a little over three years now and I still miss him.

Yep, don't want a mean dog either. Just one that will bark, but like Daryl's dog above I think Dufus would get in the car and leave with ya, lol. Although he is just a little over 8 months, I'm holding on to the hope that he learns to bark as he matures.
Daryl- Sorry about your dog. He's a beauty, and one that you really would not approach. We had a half malamute/half wolf dog when we were first married. No one liked coming over in case we were not there. Said the dog looked like it was ready to attack. Of course, it was just the look of the dog, because he seldom got off the porch and his best friend was two kittens that we had dumped on us, lol.
Kathy- You know, some crows are probably taller then Lucky, so don't be too hard on the poor thing, lol. That is very cute though. I think I am learning that the more yippy dogs are small dogs. My mom's little dog is so yippy you literally can't hiccup outside without the dog going crazy in the house. I bet there is not a night she gets a whole nights sleep because of all the country noises at her house and the little dog barking over everything. Since she lives alone, she likes that. I'm always teasing her that I need to borrow her dog because all our dogs sleep like the kids...dead to the world, lol.
