Okay - I'm wanting to update my embroidery capabilities... I currently have a Janome 8000 with the little scanner, a couple of cards, and several design cards. I don't use it a lot as embroider. I do one big project a year of making and embroiderying a schools initials and year on graduation mantels that I make. I usually scan some initials from a font I like from the computer.
I've been wanting to go to a larger embroidery area, more design capabilities, etc. One of the things I want to do is to take my son in laws logo and embroidery it for patches or directly on his work shirts.
I'm thinking of trading in the 8000 and accessories and getting the Janome 300E since it is embroidery only and matches by brand my sewing machines (Janome 6500P ((new)), 4623LE, 8000, and Jem 660). This doesn not connect directly to computer, can use small cards for design transfers. If I trade the 8000 and accessories in I can get the 300E for $700. ($300 for trade in, cause without trade in $1000).
Or get a Futura 200 with extra s/w package of 3900 design (or something like that much), and it attaches via USB port to computer, and can accept most any embroidery type of s/w design. Also this is a computer sewing machine. This would be $795...
The big thing is I really like Janome brand, and would not be use to Singer. The Singer dealer is the one that I've bought all but the Janome 6500P from, he says Singer is not a good strong company again and he still services my Janomes.
Have any of you any input, or have you used either/both of these machines?
Thanks, Angie
