I have spun up some Gotland Fleece into some yarn. One of these days I will find someone that can make me a sweater out of it for me. Good Gotland fleece is very strong, super soft, fairly good spring and nice medium luster too it. Very easy to handspin! Is just very hard to find. A Noble Nordic fleece! If I was to raise sheep again, I would work on this breed as they are well worth the effort! Here is one of my skeins. I did a little research and found these places that talk about Gotland Fleece. www.sheepmagazine.com/issues/09_10_05.html#article3www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/Buyit/Artisans/Stansborough.htm

That yarn is beautiful. You do a wonderful job spinning. I can't spin nor knit so working with fleece or yarn is outside of my comfort zone. I do enjoy watching an experienced person turn a raw fleece into the yarn and then go onto making a garment.

I love the color! Where did you get this wool? Did you buy a raw fleece or was it already prepared and in a roving or cloud?
Very nice!

Bought it from someone I know in NZ. But she hasn't been able to get a good shearing in a couple of years. Bought it right off the lamb as raw fleece.
Haven't asked her this year though.
