I thought I'd post this here and see if anyone is interested. I'm going to be making a bunch of different kinds of soap for Christmas gifts, and I usually have a ton of it left over. I can't usually use it all up before the next batch of soapmaking, and now that I live in the boonies, I have no neighbors to buy the excess! LOL!
So if anyone is interested in some really nice handmade soap for $4.00 a bar plus shipping, let me know and I'll post a list of what I'll be making. I'll tell you right up front it's not the cheapest soap around, because I can't buy my supplies in the bulk quantities that some professional soapmakers do, but it's a darn sight cheaper than some I've seen. Also, if someone has a special request, I can do that, but unless you get someone to go in with you, you'd have to buy the whole batch of 16 bars. Unless, of course, it's absolutely delicious and I want to keep some of it for myself, then I'll split it with you! ;D

By the way, I got the Burdock yesterday - Thank you! I'm not out planting it today though because it's SNOWING!!!! This weather is driving me crazy - yesterday I was outside in shorts and t-shirt (70 degrees) and today it's 31 and snowing. Right now so far I have some unscented, some Tea Tree Oil soap, and one I call Ancient Magick. I'll probably be making a batch of Lavender or Lavender/Peppermint (I haven't decided) and some Desert Daydream (Orange & Cinnamon). What's in them... UnscentedOlive oil Cocoa butter Coconut oil (no scent) Tea Tree OilSame carrier oils Tea tree EO Bergamot EO Ancient MagickSame carrier oils Black Pine EO Patchouli EO Cedarwood EO Vanilla fragrance oil If you want to get some, Bergere, I'll throw in an extra free bar for you to offset the postage on the seeds you sent. If not, I can have Rich send you a check - I was going to ask you if you wanted the postage because I'm more than happy to reimburse it. ;D ~Lannie

Am glad the Burdock arrived! Sorry it is snowing but the seed heads should keep. Please do not worry about the postage!! ;D
That is good you do not have Dairy in the soaps.
Humm.....will have to ask the men of the house which they would like the best.

Oh, they'd probably like the mint or one of the woodsy ones that I didn't list. Maybe I'll make a batch of that, too, if they're interested. I usually put stuff like birch, pine, cedarwood, sage, etc. in that one. I use powdered sage in it so it's slightly scrubby, too (for those dirty boys! LOL!).
When I still lived in Redmond, I'd put actual sage in the oil and infuse it in there so the base olive oil had a sagey smell. I loved it. We have some sage here, but it's the white sage, and it doesn't smell as strongly. Plus it's all died back for the winter...
Anyway, let me know, and I don't have a problem making up a batch of something interesting if you have any ideas. ;D It will have to sit for a couple of weeks and cure after I make it, so it would be about a month wait for a new batch.

No worries. The unscented is gone, though. The lady I made it for just wanted to try out a couple bars, but she liked it so she just asked for the rest of that batch. That was a boring one, anyway! LOL! I like "nose" in my soap! (She's one of those sensitive-to-everything people that can't go down the soap aisle in the store, you know?)

<LOL> Sounds like Hubby! ;D Hates the lady's fragrant areas in the stores... not that he has been in one in yearsss.....
So what are the woodsy ones?

What I have already made and on the shelf is this:
Honey-Vanilla 12 bars Olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, and fragrance oils of vanilla and honey. These are artificial fragrances, not essential oils.
Fresh Mint Breeze 4 bars Olive oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, apricot kernel oil, sweet almond oil, EO's of peppermint and wintergreen, and bits of peppermint leaf in the bars.
Tea Tree Oil 10 bars Olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, and EO's of tea tree and bergamot.
Ancient Magick 8 bars Olive oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and EO's of cedarwood, patchouli, black pine, with vanilla fragrance oil added. This is a batch I made a couple of months ago. I have a few bars (4 or 5 I think) left from the latest batch which is the same as above except with cocoa butter instead of palm kernel oil.
Desert Daydream 6 bars Olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, and EO's of sweet orange and cinnamon, with fresh calendula petals in the bars.
Bergere, the Woodland Spice would have olive oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, ground cinnamon, and EO's of cedarwood, lavender and cinnamon. The other one I used to make is Hunter's Camo, which my ex really liked, but I can't get some of the ingredients anymore, so I'll have to work out some substitutions, and it won't be soon, unfortunately.
Anyway, that's what I have on hand (except the Woodland Spice), but I'm still planning on making another batch or three, so if anyone has any requests, let me know.
