I love mine. I have used every available function it has. I like taking black and white photos. Especially landscapes. They just look better to me when framed and put on the wall. This probably comes from my liking Ansel Adams etc when I was a kid. Its as simple as a push of a button. Those functions are there for a reason. Don't be afraid. Just jump in there and experiment. After all if you don't like it just delete it. It cost nothing unlike 35mm. Here is a photo I took in the national forest near my home. I used a run of the mill 89 dollar camera to do it. Its professional quality and anyone can do it. Both have been in magazines here in my state. I'm trying to get everything together for a calendar of scenic photos I have taken. These look better when enlarged. i8.photobucket.com/albums/a22/mywildchildren/90f50108.jpgi8.photobucket.com/albums/a22/mywildchildren/fd1dcbb4.jpg

thrill, Can I ask what brand and model your camera is-those pics are gorgeous!! I have a Concord 3.6 pix with 4x digital zoom. I'm not pleased with it at all! Every pic comes out washed out and I even had a professional photographer help me with the settings. Although it wasn't expensive it was still around $150 so I expected some functionality and decent results. I had a $39 web cam initially and other than no flash so no indoor pics, my outdoor pics were so much better than this Concord produces!

Those particular pics were taken with my el cheapo "drag around camera" Its one I keep in the truck. Its been everywhere with me for over a year. I keep it in a small Crown Royal bag lol For under 200 bucks it is the best camera I have owned. I went through five other before settling on this one as a daily carry around. It has a few less things than my Olympus c5060 but I dont have to worry too much about it getting broke like the Olympus. Its a Kodak Easyshare cx7310 3.2 meg 5x continual zoom etc. here is a link with all the particulars. www.digital-cameras.info/kodak-cx7310.htmFeatures of the Kodak CX7310: * 3.2 MP for prints up to 11"x14" (28x36 cm) * 5X continuous digital zoom * Point-and-shoot simplicity * Share with just one touch * Video clip capture * Auto white balance for accurate color in all types of lighting conditions * High-quality KODAK 37 mm Lens (35 mm equivalent) * Preview and review with a bright 1.6" color display * Built in flash -- auto, red-eye, fill, off * 2X or 4X magnify for a closer look * Multi-up images to compare shots * Fast scroll to edit, tag or delete pictures quickly * Protect pictures from accidental erasure * 10-second self-timer * 16 MB internal memory plus MMC/SD expansion slot * Video clip capture - Up to 30 seconds video clip capture - Go from still photos to video clip at the touch of a button - QuickTime format allows universal sharing I saw one at the local Wal Mart a week or so ago for 79.99. They were about 200 new when it first came out. They are the older version of the cx7330 available now.

Beautiful pictures!! I think you've inspired me to drag out my digital camera again. I lost the charger cord and was determined to find it...I may just need to bite the bullet and buy a replacment cord. /VM

People travel all over the country to see the scenery. They dont realize most of it is right in the backyard. My sister goes all over the US and when She shows pics I show mine that are just as nice and I can get to them free in half an hour lol.

Well, I decided after looking at everyone's wonderful pictures, I want and need to have digital camera fun, too. When I went to town, I had written down thrillbillys camera #'s, and what I believe Vera said she had. The Walmart at the town I went to didn't even carry her brand, and had lots of other Kodaks, yet not the one mentioned. Too much choice. I thought maybe I should hold off and do a little more reading first. What I intended it for is hopefully beep pictures on the computer to my daughter overseas. I am admittedly electronically-challenged, and still believe I won't know how or where to even hook it up to my computer. Just follow the pictures in the instructions, I know. Yet, you should have seen how paranoid I became just hooking up a new computer mouse recently, worried if I would do it right. Then the thing ended up being defective and I had to return it and do it again. Are you guys sure I will know which place to hook it into the computer, and will I have to unplug any of the other cords back there? I suppose if worse comes to worse, I can wait for some weekend when my college daughter comes home, but I don't know when that will be. Thank you, Deb.

Deb... I'm also technically challenged and my kids got me a Kodak Easy Share digital camera. It's easy to use, came with a lil printer for pictures that the camera sets right on top of to charge or to download pics to the puter. Easy as pie! (Even I figured out how to do it!) I only had to plug one thing into my puter, and it stays plugged in... the camera has a place it sets on the printer for everything... handy!!

And if worse comes to worse, Deb, I can always give you my number and you can call me and I can help step you through the process over the phone. The part that Kaza is talking about is a docking station for the camera. that does make it super simple for operation. Most camera's (that dont have a docking station) connect to the computer with a usb cable(that is how mine hooks to the computer). I just leave the cable connected and just plug it to my camera when I need to transfer. They have made it so that even the most computer challenged people can still use it. you will be fine. If ya can do the mouse then you can do the camera.
