If you’re having a hard time using iTunes with QuickTime 6.5, expand the Preferences menu under Edit in the application’s toolbar. Click QuickTime Preferences and then choose Sound Out in the primary drop-down menu. If it isn’t already selected, choose WaveOut in the Playback Device menu. Click the Options button and change the Buffer Size In Milliseconds setting to 150. Close the window, restart QuickTime, and retry the audio file.
