Here's another project I need your input with: The ground here will stay frozen and snow-covered past the time I'll move into my new home. One of the first items on the to-do list is to put up a fenced doggie area so my dogs have a place to go potti without having to be tied up. What would be the best way to put up a fence that stands up to Great Danes and a somewhat rambunctious Pitbull teenager, without using fence posts that are driven into the ground? Any ideas welcome!!

This is what worked for me in Alaska. I had to put up a fence in December.
I would have giving up but I thought of the flame throwing machine. I had a tourch thing some people use it for weeds it is propane.
I got it out and tourched the ground. then dug then touched and kept repeating this until the hole was deep enough. to fill it I replaced the dirt and poured wated (hot to settle the dirt and then dirt again and then water. I mounded the rest of the dirt around the pole and in spring the pole was fine but the mounded dirt had settled in and I added mored to remound it.
