What are your favorite ways of preserving them? Jam? freezing? canning? How do you keep your strawberries?

I always just first freeze mine loose in a single layer of baking sheets in my freezer, then once frozen, bag them in ziplock freezer bags so they don't all get stuck together. Deb ;D

I make the cooked type jam out of some. I've never liked the freezer jam as much as the old time jam I grew up eating. I slice some for shortcake(3 parts strawberries & 1 part sugar) and freeze. Some I do as individual berries like Deb does. But most go for shortcake.  Ummm, I could go for a nice dish of fresh strawberries over homemade shortcakes with a big dollop of fresh whipped cream.  |
