Does anyone have a recommendation on dehydrators?
We have one given as a gift (round, hole in center, dries uneven and you have to move the trays around) but are looking at an Excalibur.

I have an American Harvest one that has a fan AND heater in it. You can add trays to it, and you don't have to move the trays around. Also comes with the tray that makes fruit leather. I bought a few extra tray's, but I didn't buy the original dehydrator...it was a bday gift from my mom.
I'm really happy with this one, but it's my first one, so don't know how it compares to others.

I have 2 Excaliburs- a 5 tray and a 9 tray. I love them! I use the 5 tray only for onions, hot peppers and highly seasoned items. I started with the 5 tray and saved up till I finally got the second one with 9 trays. I've never had any problems and all of my fruits, veggies and jerky comes out perfect. I like the heat degree setting as well as the timer. I also have a Harvest Maid 20 tray which is very nice due to it's size and does an adequate job. But there's something about those Excaliburs.
