Found an old recipe, does this sound like wine or pop?
Put raspberries in stone vessel and mash to pulp. Add good cider vinegar to cover well. Stand in sun 12 hours. Move overnight to cellar. Stir well several times during day and night. Strain and give berries to chickens. Take equal amount of berries and mash in stone vessel. Pour strained vinegar over them. Plast in sun for day and cellar at night, stirring as before. Strain second time.
To each quart of this juice add 1 pint water. For every 3 pints of this liquid (juice and water mixed) add 5 pounds best white sugar.
Place over a gentle fire and stir until sugar is dissolved. Heat slowly to boiling, skimming off the skum and as soon as is fairly boiling remove from heat and strain.
Use clean bottles and bottle while warm and seal corks with sealing wax or bees wax and rosin.
Makes a refreshing drink.
Note: Blackberry Vinegar made same but allow for 5 1/2 pounds sugar to 3 pints liquid.
