No, but I would like to. My mom had a really good recipe when I was a kid...The only recipes I ever manage to find are for sweet breads or things with raisins and/or molasses in it. I would just like plain bread...Deb

What is coffee can bread?? I've seen recipes for quick breads baked in soup cans but never any kind of bread baked in a coffee can..

If I recall, it's just a batter bread, but instead of baking it in a bread pan, it is baked in a greased, recycled metal coffee can in the oven. Deb

The recipe I used made a really sticky dough. The books says it should be a thick dough but to sticky to knead.

Here's a recipe I found at HT. I had lost the original so this I think is the next best one. I haven't tried it yet So good luck ;D 1 pkg. yeast 1/2 C. warm water 1/2 C. milk 1/2 C. veg. oil 1/2 C. sugar 1 tsp. salt 4 C. flour 2 eggs Preheat oven to 375* Dissolve yeast in water. Combine milk, oil, sugar and salt in a saucepan and heat and stir until dissolved. Cool to luke warm. Stir yeast mixture into 1 1/2 C. flour. add milk mixture and beat until smooth. Stir in eggs and remaining 2 1/2 C. flour and (at this point you can add grated cheese or herbs too if you like.) beat until smooth and elastic. Grease cans. Spoon or pour into 2 small coffee cans and cover with lids or plastic wrap. Let rise until dough reaches the tops about 1 hr. Remove lids and bake at 375* for 30 - 35 mins. Cool for 10 min's before removing from cans.
