I baked bread today! It turned out really nice, but there was one small problem. It tastes and smells really "yeastie" What was the problem? All of the ingredients I used were new, could it have been that brand? Or should I use less yeast next time? I did the Coffee Can recipe that I posted in that thread. TIA for your help.

It might be that the rising temperature is too high or that the dough is over-rising or that the recipe you are using calls for too much yeast. How much yeast did the recipe call for-how many loaves did this recipe make? I'm glad it came out nice otherwise though. At least it was edible. I made some once that I could have used as bricks-dead yeast!

Well let see, It makes two loaves and called for one pkg. of yeast, it said on the jar "1 level Tbsp = 1 pkg." It was very warm in my kitchen yesterday and I put them on top of the fridge to rise cause that's what Mum used to do It seemed to take alot longer than an hour to rise, that sort of surprised me. DH thinks it's slightly undercooked, so that also might be the problem.
