Well, we broke down and did it. Hubby and son just could not keep up with all the grass growing around the house and other areas. Is about 2 acres. They just could not get it done in less than 2 days, 6 hour days, each week. We have very thick grass. So we broke down last weekend and bought a John Deeres Riding lawn mower. Now Hubby can get it done in 2 to 3 hours and have time to do other things on the weekend. He is much more happy!

I bet he's glad. If you have a large yard it is really nice to have the right equipment.

Ahh just get him a scythe and do it the old fashioned way. I remember mowing the lawn: with an old fashioned push reel mower. I have vowed to not have a lawn that needs mowing when I get land. Why waste good soil on grass is my reasoning...some sort of useful ground covering plant (or maybe just a vegetable lawn? Vegetables everywhere. lol) is better IMHO... Anyways, I can see why he'd be very happy to have that new mower...
