i volunteer with habitat for humanity, although they are not extremely active near where i live. i have been working on a restore project of theirs. i had never heard of these before this. it looks like it maybe a good place to find building supplies. here is the site www.habitat.org/cd/env/restore.aspx i just thought it might be a handy resource if you live near one of these restore stores.

We have one of these near us and DH loves the things he finds there. He found a piece of window trim for a custom window we bought cheap somewhere else ten years ago. Last week he ran into the trim at the Habitat store for 10$ He was so happy.
Our store also carries alot of used appliances and new stock from custom homes that are returned to the store for no good reason.
Please check it out if you have one. Not only do you save alot of money but you help Habitat too!

I checked and there's two within a 3 1/2 to 4 hr drive for my land-I know that sounds like a lot but with the Ozarks that's really only a little over 120 miles. I'm going to check them out when I start building. A friend of mine was rehabbing a house in MO and went to the Habitat Store in St. Louis and got all of his real wood kitchen cabinets for a large kitchen for under $300! He figures those same cabinets out of a home improvement store would have cost him about $2200.

Habitat for humanity is a treasure find. Hubby and I bought a jen air stove with a grill, cutting board beside the stove for $200.00. We also have bought cabinets. We bough an island with tile countertops for $200.00. We have bought windows, bathroom sinks and toliets. We also bought 2 ovens. I love habitat for humanity. This items are handy since we are building a house.
These products aren't ratty or scuffed. These are in excellent condition.
