i'm rebuilding my woodshed(do to a timber accident).
what do you all use or how do you store kindling?
i've decided that i would rather split it into small pieces in the winter. once it's split i put it into a rubbermaid container that i keep in the house. until that time comes i don't know what to do with this unstack able pile of scraps? maybe i'm being to picky, but, it just looks like a pile of garbage.

What about building a 3 1/2-4' high box from 2 x 4's & welded wire fencing to hold the unsplit kindling? On one side put a gate so you have easy access. If you really wanted to pretty it up-surround the visible sides with lattice painted to match your home's color. I made something similar to hold my trash bags before pick up day. The only variation was I put a top on it-the raccoons were pretty thick in KY.

that is a good idea. i had been thinking of building a box with wood sides. the welded wire would work much better for the sides and bottom. that way the mice wont make it a home. i've seen people around here make similar boxes for their trash cans. i should probably add that to the to do list also.
