The computer I have is running Windows XP. I got it through a friend, who got it from her work. That means I don't have the Windows XP disc that formats the computer back to the original like my old computer had (windows 98, lol). When she gave it to me her work had reset the computer back to how it originally was and when the password screen comes up I just hit enter.
So, I was wondering is there a way to burn a copy of Windows XP so if anything happened I would be able to get set up again?
I do find a "make a backup copy" file. Is this what I use?

the backup feature of the operating system isnt going to back up the operating system itself. it will only back up settings and things of the such. unfortunatly you will need a windows disc or a recovery disc that came with the computer

Thanks Mark, I was afraid that was going to be the answer. I feel like I am on borrowed time now, since I know I can't fix problems something will happen. I'll live day to day and hopefully it will serve me well.
