There was a stillborn baby girl that a friend of my youngest daughter. Deb (my daughter) asked me to make a burial dress and bonnet, and she co-ordinated it with the baby's mom. The baby's name Melody Faith Monroe.. the reason for the Monogram. This is made from white bleached muslin and I dyed it to the color of pink I was trying to find. Very hard to find light pink soft plain fabric (I went to Hancock's, Hobby Lobby, and Walmart). I had one day to make this. Fortunately I had already taken off Friday. The funeral was SAturday. The family decided not to bury her in the dress/bonnet, but to have it out as a representation of her at the funeral, then put it into a shadow box. They hung it on an easel next to the casket and put the bonnet on the top of the easel. Deb told me that she had 4 or 5 family members come up to her and tell her thank you and how much it meant to them. Here's the outfit. upclose on the front... Angie

Okay - now on a fun sewing project. I had a book since Christmas on making fairy tale dresses for 18" American girl dolls. I did this dress Saturday and Sunday.... among doing other things... Now what's fun, this is made from left over fabrics from a Ren wedding dress I made in 2005. Take a look at the wedding dress.. Angie

How pretty.
Now you are making me feel guilty that my sewing machine has been gathering dust lately!

momo - this is just my version of a vacation. I took two days off around this 3 day weekend. Stayed home and did this stuff.
My only problem is I have to go back to office work tomorrow.

I'm sorry I missed this when you posted! The baby dress is beautiful, and hearing the reason for it breaks my heart. That was a wonderful thing you did for that family.
Wow...nice wedding dress! You have so much talent!
