Introducing Jack a Moe.... with many thanks to Roolover!!! She gave this beautiful (and friendly) gentleman to me last week when I was chatting with her about how nobody up here had Roos they were willing to part with. Aint he handsome??? And I just HAD to snap a pic of this gal's "crazy tail feather"!!! Kaza

Oh Kaza, he's a handsome devil. The girls seem to be impressed! ;D What's with that hens tail-has it always been like that? It's cute but different.

Naw, hasn't always been like that. She's growing her "Big girl feathers". I just think it's kinna funny lookin right now. (Gotta love that awkward stage!!) Kaza

Oh, he IS a handsome boy! What is he? I'm not good at identifying different chicken breeds.
If my chicklets turn out to be roos, you could have them! Kinda far to drive, though. LOL! I really can't have five roosters here, so if they are, I guess they'll end up being dinner at some point, which is kind of sad because I've gotten rather attached to them by now (thinking I had a couple more layers). There's still hope, they have rounded hackle feathers, not pointed, but their tails are looking awfully green, and the only ones of mine that have green tail feathers are the roos. The hens' are just black. We'll see if they start crowing in another couple of weeks.

She said she thinks he is barred rock/RIR/ and something else. I just think he's pretty. She wanted a barred rock Roo, and I needed any decent Roo. She thought he was too nice to eat (and she was right)... and said I could have him. Andy Nonymous brought him right up near where I live so I didn't have to drive all the way downstate even!
