Well, I stewed and fumed long enough about the 18 chickens that were stolen. A neighbor asked if I wanted to go "halves" on 25 Isa Browns and I said YES!!! ;D They arrived on the 9th... chicks are so dang cute!! Finally remembered to snap a couple pics of the "new babies". Baby chicks are soooooo danged cute! (I want ducks again to) Kaza

Kaza, I looked and couldn't find the post about the stolen chickens. I could have missed it but did you post about it here?
When did it happen? Do you have an idea who took them?

I don't think I posted about it. I was so blasted angry when it happened, I just stewed about it. It was right before I got Jack a Moe and directly before I put up a chicken fence. (outside). No idea who it was.... which is sad because that makes everyone suspect. What's sadder than my chickens is a farm around the corner had all their kids` 4-H poultry stolen. Turkeys, chickens, ducks... everything. THAT makes me even madder! Kaza

Do you have the poultry sales/swaps up where you live? We had a lot of them in WI and people would bring all kinds of poultry & waterfowl. If you have those kinds of sales,I bet someone stole everything from the kids and you to sell. As I stated over on HTGC- I hate thieves!

No... we don't even have livestock auctions around here. (Nearest one is 1 1/2 hours away) I'm in withdrawls from them!!!!
Word is out that when the person is caught... they are in DEEP Poo-Poo!!!

wow that's terrible. it's bad enough losing them to four legged creatures. i never even thought that someone would steal a bunch of chickens.
i am impressed that you jumped right back in. good job.

I like all of your upcoming selections except for the White Rocks. It's not because they're not good chickens, I'm just not as fond of all white chickens. I think it happened after raising 100+ of those genetic mutants-Giant Cornish Rocks.

i am not very fond of my white chickens. but i can't seem to find a reason for why. i'm glad they didn't get your rooster. he is such a good looking rooster. he looks like the ones i see in magazines. my roosters never look that distinguished.
