YUM! I picked a handful of grape tomatoes....LOL! Looks like you are all set for the winter! Your beans look nice! Do you ever enter any in the fair? It is fun to win ribbons and sometimes they give money too!

Would you believe that this.... Turned into this.... And fianally, into this.... I laughed at the 3 pints of wax beans to... but that was all that was ready today. Nan, I used to enter stuff in the fair all the time. Stemmed from my years in 4-H (member and Leader). Maybe next year I'll pop something in again for S&G. ;D I think it was you that expresed an intrest in my pickled beet recipe? I got it from a good friend, but it's the yummiest recipe!! Donny's Pickled Beets: 2 cups White Vinegar 2 cups Water 2 cups Sugar 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon 1 teaspoon Allspice 1 teaspoon whole cloves peel beets, slice, quarter etc. Make brine (above) Boil beets in brine 10 minutes pack in jars, seal and let cool. Fast, easy as pie and oh so yummy!!! Kaza

Well, lemmee see..... for 12 quarts, I usually triple it and have about 1/2 quart left over. So.... I guess it makes 4 quarts-ish?

Yesterday's picking and canning.... The beets on the left are regular canned, the ones on the right are pickled. Supper... ;D (Don't mind the messy table) A row of onions ready for the cellar... Have a couple maters "almost" ready to ripen!! The dill's just waiting to be used... (maybe I'll do some dilly beans today) Kaza

Those are gorgeous ears of corn girl!!!! Mine were so puny this year that I am embarrassed to feed em to anyone but family! LOL! If I can keep my rooster from eating all of the big maters...I've been getting a few now! I've picked several bowls of grape maters...and a dozen maybe of the larger ones. They finally outgrew all of the fungus problems! I sure lost a lot of them this year! I replanted some cucs and yellow squash and it just came up! I hope to get a few before it frosts! Kind of an experiment! I love looking at your garden and veggies Kaza...it makes me dream of what mine might be next year.....maybe?
