ingredients: 8 apples peeled, cored, & sliced 2 packed cups brown sugar 3 cups regular oatmeal 1&1/2 cups unsalted butter 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ginger 2 teaspoons vanilla juice from 1/2 lemon
directions:In large oiled iron skillet or baking dish add apples, lemon juice, vanilla & spices. On the stove mix butter, sugar, & oatmeal .Cook until butter is melted stirring frequently cover apples with the oatmeal mixture bake at 350 degrees covered for 15 minutes remove cover & cook 30 minutes

This looks good. BTW since you have apples and oatmeal you can almost consider this a health food and not a dessert/sweet...
