All of us on here have talked a bit about how long we can survive without electric, etc. but seriously, just how many of us could really get by living 'off grid'? I would be okay as far as heat and cooking fuel; I heat with wood 100% already. I like to cook over an open fire when camping, so that too is covered. I have a water well, but the pump to the house is powered by electricity...I need to and want to get a sand point in with a hand pump....there is a fresh water spring down the road at the neighbors and if things got bad I could get fresh water there; but IF the river floods, it too is under water. This year, I am planing one big garden and I hope that I do not have the same bad luck as in the past few years; drought and extreme heat two years in a row and last year the garden was washed away....TY who sent me seeds to replant! I have NOT FORGOTTEN that! As far as meats and eggs, I raise chickens and rabbits...plus I can hunt and fish, so that too is covered. I have horses, so travel is also covered...there is no way I am riding a bicycle! I cannot find one with a seat that is comfy and my horse's back is just fine...or the seat on the carts! Anyone else have any ideas? TH
