I got out today and used hand clippers to cut my grass. Now I know that just sounds insane, but I have a micro-yard so it wasn't bad, although I am sore from the stretching. The grass was about a foot high and I have a non-motorized push mower, so it was hand clippers all the way. Tonight as I sit at my kitchen table, I can smell the fragrance of cut grass wafting thru my closed (!) window. I call this fragrance "grass blood" and it's one of my favorites. Oh, I forgot to mention, today was the first day in about 6 months we've had both sunshine and warm (70s) temps.... Ahhhh. They're telling us it'll last about one more day...

This weekend Iowa had a blizzard, although the amount of snow wasn't excessive, the wind made visibility almost 0 at times. Crazy weather. But as this week progresses we're actually supposed to see warm temps and sunshine. I love the smell of freshly mown grass or hay. No matter how many times I smell it, it takes me back to my childhood on the farm & triggers some good memories.

DH has already cut the grass twice. Everything is green and budding. We have harvested asparagus out of our garden. AND tonight it will go down to 30-32 degrees with possible light flurries in the am tomorrow I hope we don't get any serious damage to our fruit trees etc.

I cut the grass again today. This time pushing the mower. Not so sore from this time around. Sugar pod peas are coming up, I noticed, so will get out there first chance and work a bit more on the macrame lattice.

We've had quite a few.... I've always been working them. I need to till up the new garden plot, upturn the flower beds and turn the herb bed as well. Maybe this Sunday.... I only work the night job that day. Kaza
