Two of our eggs hatched today! There are still about a dozen more to go. I hope they all hatch. I've never hatched my own before. It is so neat...but those empty shells sure stink!

lol Congrats!! Yeah, those empty shells do stink, then again, so would your "home" if it was so small you were packed in t... for a month!   Pics, we need pics!! |

Aww, I love chicks! So what breeds are your new family members? I agree with Kaza, we need some pics.  Kaza, I never thought about the stinking in quite those terms but you're right. Sort of like the smell on the NY Subway. |

I got a few pix today. If I can't get them posted I will send them to Kathy to post.
We started with 18 eggs. One died halfway out of the shell, one had it's stomach/guts outside of it's body. Yuck. Seven more are completely healthy and jumping around. Two more are still in the process of chipping away at their shells. Seven eggs have no action yet. According to chicken rules they should all have been born yesterday and today.
